Perfect Peace
By Fay Kelly
“Daughter, your faith has healed you, go in peace.” Luke 8:48
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
Thinking back through the years since I accepted Christ as my savior, I can remember many times when life has shaken my world and caused me to become fretful more than peaceful. When my husband passed away, when my sons had struggles, when we lost our house in a fire. These are only a few things that have happened through the years but always when I go to Jesus he is faithful to help me find my peace again because I have faith in him.
Take a look at your own walk with Jesus. Are there times when you have lost your peace? How have you reacted and what action have you taken to regain the peace that only comes from Jesus?
If we can only remember to go to Jesus 1st when troubling things come our way, we would be so much better off. But many times we try to fix it on our own before we ask Jesus. We could sure we could save ourselves so much heartache if we would go to him first!
I have been thinking about the B.L.E.S.S. journey we have been on this fall. Can we as God's family reach out to others around us and help them find the peace that Jesus gives? So many people are hurting and each one has a story to tell. We need to be willing listeners. Let's think of the people around us that need to hear about Jesus and his perfect peace.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the holy spirit” Romans 1513
May God bless each of you as we go through this advent season!
